In May 1982, Shiloh Baptist Church in College Park welcomed Rev. C. L. Carter, Sr. as its pastor, transforming into Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. To celebrate, a Fiftieth Anniversary Edition Yearbook was published.

As blessings grew, the congregation expanded, leading to a move to a new building at 3972 Northwest Drive on July 8, 1984. TO GOD BE THE GLORY! The church was reorganized and dedicated on October 28, 1984. In December 2010, services were held at 6105 Mableton Parkway, and on July 22, 2018, the church relocated to 3725 Flat Shoals Road. Meet Our Pastor

Bishop Dr. C.L. Carter, Sr. has made a significant impact on fostering a healthy spiritual atmosphere at First Missionary Church and in the community. He is responsible for teaching, training, and guiding the ministers under his leadership and has helped over twenty-five pastors establish their own churches. As the third Presiding Bishop of the Kingdom Connection Fellowship International, he plays a crucial role in the organization.

A devoted shepherd, Bishop Dr. C.L. Carter, Sr. is available to his flock 24/7 and cares deeply for all areas of their lives. His love extends beyond his church through the media ministry and his counseling of other pastors. His influence on the spiritual welfare of the church, community, and beyond is both extensive and profound.

Meet Our Co-Pastor

Elder Deborah Vanesse Carter is a shining light as the First Lady of the First Missionary Baptist Church in College Park, Georgia, where her husband, Bishop C. L. Carter, Sr., is the founder and pastor. Together, they co-pastor, guiding their congregation with love and wisdom .

A native of Atlanta, she is a proud mother of three, grandmother of nine, and great- grandmother of six. Alongside her sister Sheila, she co-owns Boswell’s Beauty Palace in College Park, Georgia .

Since answering the Lord’s call in 1986, Elder Carter has been licensed to preach and was ordained as an Elder in 1994. She actively participates in the Kingdom Praise Choir, the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, and the Ministerial Team, while also leading the Daughters of Destiny Women’s Ministry .

The Mission of the First Missionary Baptist Church is to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20 .

Enabled by God’s grace, we are sowing seeds of God’s love, growing into faithful Christ followers, and going into the world to share God’s love .
